We want to thank those individual that raised $1221 in support of Windsor Human Development/CHOW Walk for Hunger, held on Oct. 3. Portion of the above ( $445) has been sent to CHOW for their efforts. We would also like to acknowledge the fantastic help provided by Windsor Lions Club, Windsor Churches United , and the Presbyterian Church. A special thanks to Ron Stone for cooking, and those individual that handled registration. They all did a terrific job and help make it a success. The money raised will be used to provide food for our holiday baskets this year. Due to economic downturn in our community we expect there will be more families in need this year than ever before and every amount either large or small is a blessing. I really appreciated the fact that owners brought their well behaved dogs along for the walk . They both got to enjoy the outdoors and did some good for the people in this community. BRAVO to all for their efforts on our behalf. In case you wondered, Windsor Human Development is an independent pantry, which means we purchase our food from the same places that CHOW does. We are not part of CHOW, and consequently receive no money or food from them. |
